BIOGRAPHY

Jennifer Johnson is a writer, photographer, counselor, and life coach. She is licensed as Professional Counselor in North Carolina and Georgia. Jennifer provides counseling and coaching services in her Asheville office for local clients or by telephone for distance clients. Jennifer offers creative writing instruction and writing coaching locally and to distance learners online. Her photographs are available for sale and licensing, and she is available for commissioned work for CD covers, book covers, etc.

Jennifer obtained an MS in Community Counseling in 1991 and an MS in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1996 from Georgia State University. She obtained an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art with concentrations in Creative Writing, Photography, and Art as Healing from Goddard College in 2007.

Jennifer's theoretical orientation and practice draws upon Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Therapeutic Writing, and PhotoTherapy. She offers mindfulness training including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Therapeutic Writing and Photography (PhotoTherapy).

Jennifer has pursued a personal practice of Vipassana meditation and mindfulness since 1990 and a practice of Vinyassa yoga since 2003. .
